Another exercise in tilting at windmills, but unfortunately, real money is being thrown away in the process. Firstly, it will be ugly and mar the currently unobstructed and beautiful views of the Potomac. Secondly (or perhaps more importantly), it's an answer to a problem no one has. Whom is this suppose to service? The constituency of people who regularly travel from Roslyn to Georgetown are employees of GU. Few residents of Georgetown use the Roslyn metro station, and why would they? There are several bus lines that snake through that part of the city, and for residents of East Georgetown, the Dupont station is closer. Has anyone ever noticed Manhattan-like foot traffic across the key bridge, or even a significant pedestrian backup? Me neither. So what is the point? To give tourists an amusement park ride?
