I agree that for the moment all we can do is wait for the feasibility study to be published. It clearly works in some other places and now we just need to see if this corridor has what it takes.

Make it go to campus/Prospect St and you can remove the Rosslyn GUTS shuttle, and make all those people use it.

I suspect this system is popular with leaders (and will be popular with the public) as it is a project that ostensibly has little to no impact on existing motor vehicle traffic flow. That's the...

What I'd like to see is a projected cost to build and to operate. I get the feeling that the "no-way" and "just a novelty" critics don't realize how (relatively) cheap it is to put up some towers and...

"A gondola system will potentially serve as a catalyst for future growth and development" How will this play out in Georgetown though? Don't they shoot you on sight for mentioning such things like...

I'm all for it. Anything to get people off of the roads in Georgetown. I want the gondola AND the Key Bridge bus lane AND removal of parking on M street AND an M street bike lane./greedy

Echoing Scoot- a bus lane is the obvious alternative that ought to be considered at the same time. The bridge has 6 lanes. 2 for buses and 4 for cars sounds quite equitable. Put the bus lanes right...

From the beginning I thought this was worth studying, but I can't even begin to form an opinion until we know the details. Such as - the DC destination. I've heard talk of GU campus (as far as the...

How many buses use the Key Bridge? Circulator, 38B, and GUTS? My personal preference would be extending the old Aqueduct bridge into a bike/pedestrian path to the proposed boathouse on the Arlington...

Portland Aerial Tram is great and a success but it's not really accurate to call it a "gondola." I don't think it provides a real comparative example for what is being proposed for DC. It has two...

So Power lines and street car power lines = no, but gondola cables = ok? This will never happen with all of the sightline restrictions.

The Metro line would be much more useful. As one node between Georgetown and Rosslyn I would certianly never use this and I can't imagine it would do much to reduce congestion on the Orange/Silver/Blue...

@ JR 3,000 passengers/day is pretty substantial. At 300 operation days/year that's about 900,000 annual trips -- just about the same as the DuPont/Georgetown/Rosslyn Circulator.
